Technology stolen 5. Conquered many times 6. Most of the educated leave the area and never come back 7. All the cities were destroyed, and looted 8. Drought has hit for the past decade 9. All the countries found that there was nothing left so they deserted the place 2. Environment 1. Dry, desert, barren 2. During a drought season 3. Not much vegetation. 4. Near the equator 3. Political 1. The majority of the people were nomadic 2. No strong central government 3. No political ties to the outside industrialized world 4. The leader of the largest tribe is named Chief Belac 5. Belac grew up when culture was first starting out as a promising technologically advanced country 6. He fought against all the foreign invaders 7. He degraded himself as well as his people to become hunter-gathering socities in order to survive. 4. Economic 1. Almost no economy 2. Tribes move from land to land hunting and gathering what they can 3. Due to the drought, there has been a scarcity of food 4. There is no economic trading with the outside world 5. There has been trading amongst the individual tribes that were 5. Social 1. Groups of family congregated together
