Programs that are used today include religion, recreation, arts and crafts, service groups, self- help groups, work assignments, visitation, certified vocational training, and education. The programs available today actually help the prisoners to be prepared with education and vocational training to reenter society with opportunities for employment to keep them from recommitting crime. The education and therapy can help to change the thinking of the inmate to realize the possibilities of the life they can have once released from prison and help them to realize that their options do not have to include criminal activity....
