Week 4 Application Problems Directions: Please solve the following problems. Please show all work. You can show this by using numbers (numerically) or you can write a written response telling how you solved the problem. All work should be done underneath each problem. Good luck! 1. A 3-lb puppy is gaining weight at a rate of ¾lb per week. When will the puppy’s weight exceed 22 ½ lb? initial wt = 3.0 lb final wt = 22.5 lb = 22.5 - 3.0 = 19.5 rate = 0.75 per week. = 19.5 / 0.75 =26 The puppy will weigh 22 ½ lb at 26 weeks. 2. George and Joan do volunteer work at a hospital. Joan worked 3 more hr than George, and together they worked more than 27 hr. What possible numbers of hours did each work? J+g=27 J=g+3 J=15 g=12 How I arrived at this answer is it says joan worked 3 more hours than George and together they worked more than 27 hours so the only possible numbers it could be is 15 and 12.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
