The personal goal that I chose is I want to get my doctorate in Psychology. The first step in fostering commitment states find a meaning. This for me is a long term commitment because I know that it is going to take me awhile to get the degree I want to earn. When I commit to something I usually get it done because I do not like to fail at anything that I do. The next step says turn a should into a want, instead of saying I should get it I changed it to say I want to earn it. I want to prove to people that think that I cannot do it that I can. These suggestions refocus my commitment by telling me how much this means to me and why I want to obtain my degree. I do not have to rethink any areas of my goals because my mind as been set on this since I started school. I know someone that earned their masters degree in Psychology and he said that it is very hard for him to find a job. That is why I want to go further that way I know when I get out of school it will be easy for me to find a job....
