Lapchak 1 -1Stephen Lapchak Catherine Newell Writing 2 11 October 2010 Engineering the Tools of Scientific Discovery Thesis: Engineering the tools for scientific discovery is the greatest of all the century’s challenges because these tools will allow scientists to gain the knowledge needed to drastically improve the world environmentally and biologically, as well as providing access to further human health inquiries and to the unknown information about the universe. I. Without engineering the tools of scientific discovery, none of the thirteen other century’s great challenges would necessarily be possible. A. The development of tools for scientific discovery allow advancements in human well being, Earth restoration, and space exploration to be possible. II. If new tools that provide the means to scientific discovery aren’t created, or current tools updated, there will be no advancement in society, or improvement in the knowledge of our surroundings. A.
