I chose a section in the chapter that was entitled Animal Communication. The section covered how humans communicate through means of language, vision, and touch. I believe that this will affect the show industry the most of all. All of which plays a big part in animal behavior. First, the language communication of show animals is very important. Every species can communicate to one another. The section gave the example of how horses can whimper if in danger or whine if stressed by a show handler. People are able to listen to this and actually tell whether the hen is in distress or not. Also, people can use their own vocals to control animals. For example, people can speak softly for a calming effect or loudly to get attention. Being able to get your message across allows a shower to train their animals easier since the animal can understand certain sounds to mean certain things. Second, people can see how to communicate with an animal effectively. The section talked about how we are able to read threats from
