Final Paper Patrick Bakley 1 Patrick Bakley A. Ballour MWF 9:00 am December 14, 2009 Destruction Defined People are blessed with the ability to comprehend time. However, this makes people think about when time will end, but more importantly, when time on earth will end. Because of this, people have tried to predict when the earth would actually end. People first believed in the scriptural faith of Christianity that earth would end by the second coming of Christ. Then people began to believe in the predictions of scientists who foresaw a global catastrophe such as a climate shift or meteorite. Now people are fretting over the myans prediction that it will end in 2012. The end of the world, according to the myans, will result from the planets aligning, the destruction of the earth’s crust, and flooding over most of the earth. The first step of the myans prediction is the alignment of the planets together. This will cause the Sun to emit large amounts of ultra violet radiation over our entire planet. That radiation
