Ryan Henry Mrs. Fletcher English 1301 11/24/08 I Believe I believe in the power of a family. No matter what happens in life, I can always look to my family for support and they are always there to help me. When I was in seventh grade, my family moved from Louisiana to Texas. I was excited for a while about moving to a different place and having a bigger house and being closer to the rest of my family. But then, the day came when we were actually leaving. I finally realized that I would have to start over and that nothing would be the same. School was a lot more challenging in Texas. I was signed up for all preAP courses and I felt like I had so much homework that I decided to quit football, a sport I had played since second grade. A few days later, I broke my foot and was forced to hobble around on crutches for over two months. However, throughout all of this, the one thing I

Unformatted text preview: could always count on is my family. When I needed help with homework, my dad and my brother would explain to me how to do it. When I needed to smile, my sisters would do what they do best. And when I needed support for anything or simply someone to talk to, my mom was always there in a heartbeat. My family is the sole reason I got through that extremely tough year of my life. No matter how sad I was, how hurt I was, or how much distress I went through, they were always there to pick me up. Any family has the ability to be like this if they really want to. A family can be compared to as a group of popsicle sticks. Alone, a single popsicle stick can easily be broken in half. However, if you put 5 or 6 of them together and try breaking them, they wont budge. My family is one of those that you cant budge....
