Characteristics of Expository Essays Com 150 Crystal Webb 12/13/09 The two articles I read where, How to Clean a Fish , http://capmel.com/how_to- fillet_fish.htm , and Setting the Table, http://www.artofcookery.com/settingthetable.htm What characteristics make these essays expository? The characteristics that made these an expository essay are: the use of evidence and facts, the information was presented fairly and with a non biases manner. Identify the type of organization each author used to develop the essay: topic, time order, space order, or informative process. I though both articles where organized well. “Setting the Table” had a good topic and the time order was great. The order was step by step from the first thing you needed to do until the last. The space order is hard to define with “Setting the Table” because it’s more of a list. I think the informative process was well executed. I thought the topic on “How to Clean a Fish” was well thought out. The time order
