Module Objectives:       Upon completion of the study of this module, the student is expected    to:  1. Discuss tools for planning or evaluating a diet for adequacy such as the       “My Pyramid” food guidance system.    2. Discuss purpose of an individual following dietary recommendations.  3. Discuss the goals of the recommendations in the “My Pyramid” food guide.    4. Discuss factors that result in decrease or increase in food intake.    5. Discuss measures utilized in stimulating a patient’s appetite.  6. Discuss measures utilized when a patient needs assistance with feeding.  7. Describe measures used in preparing the patient for mealtime.  8. Describe safety precautions to follow in feeding patients.
