Minutes of the Learning Lab Department Meeting: 11-10-05 Present: P. Bonila, G. Chaskes, M. Kelly, G. Mitchell, O. Mitchell, J. Monroe, J.  Pinto (C), J. Reitzes & M. Stephens. 1. J. Pinto stated that the semester has been unusual on account of  problems caused by the tutoring appointment system, Banner, etc. 2. Rules Committee.  J. Pinto asked that the Rules Committee A. Take a look at the LL Dept. rules on file in order to put together a  cohesive document; B. Look at other things in the Dept; C. And to communicate A & B to Dept. members. 3. Tutor Committee: A. P. Bonila reported that he proposed to evaluate some tutors, as a  prelude to full-scale tutor evaluation in Spring 2006. B. J. Pinto said that he would like FT faculty to mentor peer & non- peer tutors as well as act as contact persons; tutors should feel that  they are part of the Dept.; tutor evaluation was mentioned at a  meeting of the Middle-States audit of the LL. C. M. Stephens asked if there was a document outlining the  expectations of the users of the Writing Center; J. Pinto replied that  there is a Writing Center Mission Statement & that the purposes of  the Writing Center are stated on the LL home page.
