The student seems to have a pretty good idea of what she wants to do with her paper.The first thing I would do is ask the student how she likes the main character Matilda. Did she think that Matilda's goals were good, bad,petty etc.? From there I could get an understanding of the student's likes or dislikes of Matilda. From the message we could develop a thesis
