PRE-REGISTRATION COURSE ANALYSIS College courses fall into three general categories: 1. constant-discipline courses, 2. delayed-action courses, 3. self-involving courses Deciding which category each of your proposed courses f1ts into will help you choose a balanced course load. CONSTANT-DISCIPLINE COURSES REQUIREMENTS: Daily outside study or written assignments COURSES: Mathematics, foreign language. English composition, accounting, science SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS : Subject matter is usually taught in sequence. You must learn today's lesson in order to understand tomorrow's lesson. Constant- discipline courses are very demanding. DELAYED-ACTION COURSES REQUIREMENTS: Outside reading and relatively few tests COURSES: Literature courses, many business courses (such as marketing, salesmanship, and business law) and most social science courses (such as history, economics. sociology, and psychology). SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS
