Society: China Time period: 1700-256 BC (Pre-classical) 221BC-220 AD (Classical) Significant events during time period: Era of Warring states, Pre-classical (Mandate of heaven, oracle bones, bronze weaponry, decentralized gov, semi-feudal) Classical (Legalism, Confucianism, Daoism, great wall of china, Silk road) What was the change? Chinese people started thinking about what was wrong and how they could change the government to make it better. They contemplate new ideas to bring the country out of turmoil and make everything right again. Some ideas included Legalism, Confucianism, and Daoism. What caused the change? The local landlords got too much power, and thus proclaimed themselves “kings” and this caused civil war outbreaks throughout the entire kingdom of china, and civil war followed for hundreds of years.
