Edith Hamilton Project Description Vamsi Reddy, Will Walker, Jeremy Johnson Midas and Others 1. Wine and Cup- Represents that Midas found and entertained an old fat drunkard 2. Grapes- Represent Bacchus because he is the god of wine/ Bacchus gives Midas one wish 3. Golden flower and cup- Represents Midas’s wish to turn everything to gold/ He then realizes his stupidity when he turns his food to gold 4. Half gold/half purple grapes- Represents the taking away of Midas’s wish by Bacchus 5. Sun and Pan Flute- Musical contest between Pan and Apollo 6. Flaming Arrow- Describes Apollo’s anger when Midas sides with Apollo instead of him 7. Donkey Ears- Apollo made Midas’s ears in donkey ears as a punishment for siding with Pan Aesculapius 1. Broken Heart- Apollo loves a mortal named Coronis, but she does not love him and prefers a mortal 2. Flaming Arrow- Apollo is greatly angered and he killed Coronis for her unfaithfulness (News brought to him by a white raven-turned black) 3. Centaur- Chiron- Wise and kind centaur who trained a numerous amount of heroes/ Apollo saves unborn son of Coronis and gives him to Chiron to raise 4. Bandages- Son (Now named Aesculapius) does not want to be trained in the field of war, but instead turns to medicine and the arts of healing in which he greatly surpasses even
