Diversity in the Classroom The average classroom in today’s society is filled with diversity and multiculturalism. As the population growing at an alarming rate so is its diversity. If one would walk into a standard classroom today the typical student would be that of a Caucasian heritage; however, statistics show within the next 50 years the white majority will become the minority. Teachers, classroom, and the curriculum play a vital role in providing a sturdy and well enforced education to students of all backgrounds. They also are the key in making sure all students are treated equal by not just themselves but also other classmates. As students start their first year in school they begin to notice differences among people. They start to sort others by color and sizes. Between the ages of five and six students they begin to ask more in depth questions about these differences. They also start to enjoy exploring their curiosity. With
