Multicultural Education Scenario Allyce Beechy AED/200 January 10, 2010 Dr. Deb Kneser Being a teacher at Valley Elementary school of second grade where my class is a mix’s of all different types of race is not easy it’s a change and that’s its own reward. Having children that are not all the same just means you have to find a way to incorporate all of them. In my classroom there are white’s, Latino’s, African American’s, Native American’s, Asian, special need’s and one in a wheelchair. I was in special needs class growing up and I know how hard it is for them to learn. Having all different types of children in the same classroom is a good thing because then they can see and understand that we are not all the same but that it’s oaky that we are not. When children are young whatever you teach them that’s what they are going to grow up to say is right or wrong. So if all different types of children are put in the same class they will grow up to see that it’s normally not to be the same. I know that when children that have special needs are put into a special room the other children make fun of them call them names and that hurts. If all the different types of raise were put in a different room children would think different of them and may even be mean to them because that’s all they know.
