FINAL EXAMINATION GUIDE Where is it? FAC 21 When is it? 9 am to 12 noon, Tuesday, December 18 What will I need? blue books How big of a deal is this exam? It's worth 40% of your final grade, which will help many of you boost your average after the second midterm. Furthermore, anyone who boosts their grade on the final significantly above their grade on the second midterm (15 points or more) will be rewarded by having the second midterm count as only 25% of their final average, and the final as 45%. NB: IF YOU FAIL THE FINAL, YOU FAIL THE COURSE. NO EXCEPTIONS. What performance boosters are permissible? Energy drinks of various kinds (coffee, soda, Red Bull, Rock Star, etc.), but no anabolic steroids or human growth hormone are permitted. And please eat your breakfast BEFORE the exam! Are there review sessions? The TAs will be having "extra office hours" at which they will also be conducting reviews. The first is on Monday, December 10, from 2-4 pm, in WAG 101, and the second is on Sunday, December 16, from 2-4 pm, in WAG 101. You will receive via email a practice essay question to prepare for these extra office hours. What material is eligible ? For the multiple-choice, true-false, and short-answer sections, all material covered in lectures or readings since November 7. The essay is cumulative. It covers all material covered in lectures and readings from the entire semester. Will members of the teaching staff be available during exam week for consultation if necessary? Yes; here is the schedule: Monday, December 10, 10:30 am - noon: Professor Bolmarcich, WAG 200A Monday, December 10, 2-4 pm: Ben Hicks, WAG 101 Tuesday, December 11, 11:30-1 pm: Alexa Ballard, WAG 103 Thursday, December 13, 3:30-5 pm: Alexa Ballard, WAG 103 Friday, December 14, 9 am - 10:30 am: Professor Bolmarcich, WAG 200A Friday, December 14, noon - 2 pm: Ben Hicks, WAG 14C Sunday, December 16, 2-4 pm: Alexa Ballard, WAG 101 Monday, December 17, 10:30 am - noon: Professor Bolmarcich, WAG 200A Monday, December 17, 3-4 pm: Ben Hicks, WAG 14C The final will take the following format: *Multiple-choice questions: 30 (choice of 36), 1 point each, 30 points total, 30 minutes *True/false questions: 10 (choice of 12), 1 point each, 10 points total, 10 minutes *Short-Answer questions: 10 (choice of 12), 3 points each, 30 points total, 60 minutes
