Date: September 29, 2008 To: All Senior Technical Consultants, Aerospace Division, Section 10 Cc: E.M. Long, Project Manager From: C.C. Wadbrook, Assistant Director, Client Relations Division Subject: Request for Project Proposals Our firm has been tasked with investigating recent engineering failures in our industry and proposing possible research projects to several new clients. Our clients are interested in project proposals about failures/accidents that warrant further investigation because of the importance of the potential and/or actual “lessons learned” from the incident. Your proposal should be the result of original (not submitted anywhere previously) non-collaborative research and writing (i.e., your own work). You will be submitting two (2) paper copies of your proposal to Ms. Long and sending me one electronic copy as an attachment to an email. The deadline for final submittal is Monday, October 13, 2008 at 11 am . No proposals will be accepted or considered after this deadline. To assist you in the production of your project proposal, there will be a peer review workshop on Monday, October 6, 2008 from 10-10:50 am . You are required to bring three (3) copies of a typed, complete rough draft of your proposal to this workshop (see reverse for more details). In addition, you are required to sign up for a 15-minute consultation with Ms. Long about your rough draft during the week of October 6. She will be making the sign up sheet available soon.
