September 18, 2011 Mr. Bryan Marcum AC Technology, Inc. 9625 Ormsby Station Road Louisville, KY 40223 Dear Bryan, Thank you for the help in updating our agreement with AC Technology for the use of C-MOLD software in our courses at the University of Florida. I am writing this letter to request an educational exemption from the annual fee. I thought that it might be appropriate to provide an overview of the courses in which we are using this software. There are basically three courses that I have attempted to use C-MOLD or Dr. C-MOLD as an educational tool. First and foremost is our senior level Polymer Processing Course (EMA 4666C). This is a capstone course for our department Materials Engineering concentrating in Plastics Engineering. This course is four credits with three of the credits devoted to lecture and the other to laboratory. The course has evolved from primarily a lecture course to the laboratory course over the past few years. The syllabus for the course is attached along with the laboratory syllabus and experiments in which the students participate. You will notice that the book by Griskey is heavily into the fundamental principles of plastics processing. However, the text has no modeling
