Tyler Campos HW1 ECE 2984 1) United States 2) Venera-3 3) NEAR spacecraft 4) G-type (main sequence) 5) Photosphere 6) Eugene Parker 7) M-Classification 8) “Spacecraft Bus” is a general platform for which many satellites are built and based. 9) Germans were interested in rockets because they saw them an effective and longer range alternative to artillery. 10) The three internal regions of the sun are the core, radiative zone, and convection zone. The radial extents are 25%, 50%, and 25% respectively. 11) Sunspots occur on the surface of the sun when there is a strong magnetic field that prohibits the convection of hot material to the surface. They are darker because they are cooler regions. 12) A coronal streamer is a region of more chaotic magnetic field behavior and a coronal hole is a region of quiet magnetic activity. 13) Beta Plasma is the ratio of plasma pressure to magnetic pressure and frozen-in is when the plasma beta is large enough to where the plasma motion dictates the magnetic field. 14) The sun’s gravitational field is not sufficient enough to hold back the thermal expansion
