Tyler Campos 1106 Eng 2:00 TR Smith Presentation Write-Up “Where Does it End?” After reading that the collage idea would be based around a technological thesis, I instantly looked back at the readings dealing with technology in human society. What enlightened me to choose an even more definitive topic was because this topic had no right answer. A human mind linked to artificial intelligence was hardly fathomed in earlier centuries. The world of prosthetics started as just a piece of carved wood, but it was the idea that something inanimate would be controlled by the mind to accomplish tasks instead of a limb. After looking at some of the readings, the one that stood out the most was Rodney Brooks’ “Prologue to FLESH AND MACHINES.” It gave the insight on “Where does it end?” How far are we willing to go to replicate human functions? Starting from a piece of wood to a fully functional, self autonomous robot, people are looking for more than replacements.
