Kalan Lecture 13 3/09/2011 HE machine: high efficiency machine? A. Brand Equity: You are buying the perception of the brand. Eg. Trix Rabbit, Maytag Repair Man, Jolly Green Giant a. Eg. Tide has an incredibly loyal following. B. Product: A product is a good service or idea. Also a tangible or intangible that threw the exchange process satisfies a need. a. The need may be consumer or business. b. A tangible product may be referred to as a good. i. Eg. Something we see touch feel c. For a marketer a product is much more than a thing. d. Any product itself has a bundle of attributes. All of those attributes contribute to and create the equity. Eg. C. We can classify products in two classifications: Consumer and Business. a. Items however can be either consumer or business. We define object based on the application of usage. B-B or B-C. b. Consumer Products can be durable or Non-durable i. Durable: Consumer product that provide benefits over a long period of time.
