Kalan Lecture 14 3/21/2011 A. B-B Products : Used in the production of other goods or services, or to facilitate thee organizations operations, or for resale. a. Equipment: Usually more expensive products. These are equipment used in daily operations. These are not expensed but capitalized(cost is recaptured or amortized over the useful life of that equipment). i. Heavy or capital equipment: Things used for a long period of time ii. Light, accessory type equipment: Computers, Photocopiers b. Maintenance, Repair, and Operating(MRO): These goods are used in a relatively short time. i. I.e. Light bulbs, tools, lubricants, cleaning supplies c. Raw Materials: The ingredients used in manufacturing or production processes. They are consumed in the process to become part of the final product or they become processed materials that others will use and finish. d. Processed Materials: Products created when firms transform raw materials from their original state. They will become i. I.e. Steel or aluminum ingets, the material for concrete, (processed materials used
