Course Description: This course examines the preparation and use of accounting data for management planning, decision- making, and control. Emphasis is placed on the diverse context in which business managers use accounting and other information. Topics covered include the behavior of costs; product costing in manufacturing, merchandising, and service settings; budgetary process, and use of cost and other information in pricing and product decisions. These topics are essential for students wanting to be in the management ranks, serve as consultants to management, as well as for students preparing to join the accounting profession.
