Witches in the American Imagination What, specifically, did Sarah Holton accuse Rebecca Nurse of doing? How else might you explain the sequence of events that led to Holton's husband's death? Sarah Holton specifically accused Rebecca Nurse of taking her husband, Benjamine Holton and afflicting him. Nurse came to the house of the Holton's yelling at them for their pigs have gotten to Nurse's field. The sequence in which the events occurred started off with Rebecca Nurse arriving early in the morning yelling at Benjamine Holton to kill their pigs and let none of them go out of the field. Nurse was angry the pigs got to her field. After a few minutes later Mr. Holton did not kill the pigs. He came home with a fit saying he was struck blind and stricken down a few times. Throughout the day he experienced multiple violent fits which lead to his death. What charges did Ann Putnam, Senior, make against Rebecca Nurse?
