Chapter 6 Human Geography Industry 1. How are export processing zones a product a globalization? Export processing zones are products of globalization because they are industrial parks designed for foreign companies that want to establish export industries. Thus, the exports would be universal which lead to globalization because it allows other countries to receive products that are found everywhere else in the world. This connects the world together through their businesses. 2. What is a sweatshop? A sweatshop is a shop or factory in which employees work long hours at low wages. Originally it was described as the system middlemen earned fo profits they would receive for a contract. 3. Why do so many governments promote EPZs as a route to development? Much governments promote EPZs in order to develop because this strategy has been successful in providing strong governments which can support a legal systems, and put down work rebellions.
