The purpose of the laboratory exercise is to open people's eyes about how much money they spend a year on electrical items in their house. The lab helps add up the cost of electricity used on each of the appliances that one uses and shows how much one pays per month and year. The lab is important because many people do not pay attention to how much electricity is emitted in small appliances that are a part of everyday living. The lab also gives details as to how one can conserve energy and help drop the cost one pays on electric bills. I hope to gain understanding that just because an appliance is something I use everyday does not mean I do not pay for it in the long run.
