Cold War The Cold War was the resentment of the two superpowers in the world after World War 2. These two superpowers were the Untied States and the Soviet Union. The primary reason why these two superpowers were at each other’s necks is because of their conflicting ideologies. In the US, capitalism was the chief form of policy governing the American economy and policy. Unlike the US, the Soviet Union was run by the Communist ideology. If either country wanted their ideology to be followed by everyone else in the world, than the conflicting ideology had to be non-existent. The Cold War spans throughout the following decades and is said to have ended in 1991. Conflicting philosophies of the two repeatedly collided throughout the world stage, and everyone on earth was at the mercy of the two superpowers. Throughout the Cold War, each country was at an arms race to develop newer and deadlier weapons than the other one. In addition to the arms race, both countries tried to gain favor from outside countries for support. As both countries began to gain support from other countries the three-world system was
