Elitist Foreign Policy Counter-insurgency- Kennedy wanted to try out counter-insurgency in Vietnam, and was  influenced by Halberstam and the rest of his staff. This staff includes Rusk, Maxwell Taylor and  McNamara.  After Kennedy’s assassination, Lyndon Johnson was president was reliant on  Kennedy’s cabinet and was driven into war with Vietnam. Another example of Elitist Foreign Policy is when the US went to war in Iraq, under the Bush  administration.  Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell and the rest of Bush’s cabinet were the ones  that produced the war in Iraq.  They only planned on invading Iraq and taken out the main Iraqi  army but they failed to realize that the war shift to guerilla warfare. Three public opinions- Mass public o 80% of the people o Tend to be not that interested into politics, get most of their information from their  leader.
