Old Red Sandstone Carboniferous Period Cambrian Period Comes from Latin, Cambior which means whales. Silurian Period- The Silurias were a tribe that inhabited the area in Southern Wales. Decided to name the area between the Cambrian and Silurian Periods, the Ordovician Period. The Permian Period was found in the Perm Province of Russia during a trip to Russia. The Devonian Period was found in Devon, England.
