Michael Bustin GLG 111 B Man Trapped in Cave Dies in Rescue Attempt In a park in Utah, a man was trapped in a cave. The man was John Edward Jones, and he was 26 years old. He and eleven others were visiting Nutty Putty Cave which is located west of Utah Lake (CNN). The cave is located 55-60 miles south of Utah’s capital, Salt Lake City (CNN). The cave receives annually around 5000 visitors annually. Jones and his grouped entered the cave system at around 6 pm, and Jones became stuck in a crevice in the cave at around 8:45 pm (CNN). The feature, in which Jones was stuck in, was named “Bob’s Push” (CNN). The crevice in which Jones was stuck in was 18 inches wide and 10 Inches high (CNN). Rescuers tried around the clock for 26 hours to try to rescue Jones, but shortly before midnight on Wednesday, Nov. 25 th , it was concluded that Jones was dead because a lack of breathing and a pulse.
