Another class begins in the basement of Shideler Hall, in a large lecture room next to the Geology museum. This large classroom is where my GLG 111 The Dynamic Earth class takes place. I fortunately enter the class 10 minutes early and there are plenty of seats open for me to sit in. Slowly but surely students come wandering in and within two minutes of the start of the class the professor comes in, Doctor Paul Holm. He prepares for his lecture by turning on the computer, but when the clock lands on 2:15 pm, he begins. He starts the class by going over what we supposedly learned last class. After the brief prelude he begins his energized lecture on “the dynamic earth”. His lectures are so animated that it seems like he is either totally in love with the subject that he teaches or he had one too many energy drinks before class. Right in the middle of his lecture on plate tectonics, the door on the left side of the 92 person maximum capacity room opens, and sneaking in are two girls. One fortunately finds a seat right next to the door but
