Connor Billing February 9, 2010 COM 135 Sect. I Speech Analysis When giving a speech one does not think about the introduction, body, conclusion, or delivery. Frankly everything that was painstakingly put into the speech during the writing process is carelessly forgotten once that opening line is spoken. Because of this forgetfulness, one does not know how the speech went in terms of delivery, until the speech can be watched. I found that my speech was relatively decent, strong in some parts, but could definitely use some work in other areas. Given that this was only a two to three minute speech I feel that the analysis of the introduction, body, and conclusion are important but not quite as important as the review of the delivery. I feel that two of the strengths in my speech were eye contact and delivery rate, while two definite weaknesses were my attempt at an attention getter and the superfluous movements throughout the speech.
