October 14, 2009 Connor Billing Learning Map Reflection Ever since entering the honors program I feel that my education path has been very structured, and thus I have not really been able to make any decisions for myself besides my major. Despite this, I did set some goals for myself for my freshman year but they are pretty general because I really have no control over the courses I take. I feel like everything I am doing is to meet some requirement for the honors program, instead of enhancing my knowledge by participating in classes and activities that really interest me. For these reasons, my goals are general, and the honors experiences I know I am taking next semester are not really my choice, but requirements I have to meet graduation requirements. I am normally not the type of person that sets goals for himself but I had no idea what college would entail for me so I decided I would set some general ones. My academic goals for this year are to make it through my freshman year by keeping a respectable GPA, (better than a 3.2) and learning as
