Connor Billing March 14, 2011 Mr. Eric Littman Technology and Perception The television remote is a relatively small electronic tool, which can range in size, but is generally about five to eight inches long, and an inch or two wide, with minimal depth. As is true with most electronic devices, there is no set color for each remote, but the most popular color is black. Also, each remote is manufactured to be as aesthetically pleasing as possible so as to be consistent with the decor in the room. A vending machine is quite the opposite of a television remote in physical stature because it is usually about seven feet tall, three feet deep, and a couple feet wide. It is similar to the television remote because it varies in color, depending on sponsor. These pieces of technology also differ because the television remote is most similar to the indirect perception theory, while the vending machine would be most consistent with the ecological theory of perception.
