No Smoking Allowed Case Assignment 1. The key stakeholders in this case are the employees of Weyco, and the owners of the Weyco Company. 2. The interests of the employees in this case are their privacy to be able to do what they want on their own time, and to have a work environment that does not hinder their addiction to the nicotine in cigarettes. They do not want the company to be able to tell them what to do on their own time and do not think that it is right to fire someone on basis of an addiction. The owner’s interests in this case are to have productive healthy employees that will contribute to their bottom line and earn money for their stakeholders. 3. The case is about a company firing people for smoking, in which they gave them 15 months to quit and the company would pay for all the help

I think that companies should be able to restrict their employees from smoking because in studies it showed that people who smoke hurt the business by losing them on average $1,800 more in health care and they are less productive in the workplace. 5. They do not have the obligation to do so, because it is the companies own interests that are being involved and not every company would want tot do this to their employees. 6. There is the role of government if they count the smoking as an addiction because then it is discrimination. But with the privacy government does not protect issue because privacy is only protected with moral/ social contracts. 7. The only way to protect these employees is if the addiction is counted as discrimination....
