John Malloy Portfolio 5, Entry 6 January 10, 2009 Today I had Ski Club for the first time. As I stepped off the bus and looked up at the hill, a chill came over me. The hills were covered with people, small from so far away. Though the hills were already coated in a thick layer of snow, a small flurry was slowly adding on. The higher and higher up the hill I looked, the more and more desolate it became. At the very top stood several trees, towering over everything around. Their boughs all had a sprinkling of snow, adding to the awesome sight. As the lights shined down on the earth beneath them, the different areas of difficulty were evident. To the far left was the smallest hill, crowded with numerous people scrambling up and down. As I craned my head to the right, the hills became bigger and steeper. Looking at the rightmost hill, I felt determined to end up there someday. January 19, 2009 As I pulled up to the red light and changed the radio station, a catchy beat caught my ear. There was a deep bass at first. It was so deep and strong I could feel it shaking the car, and reaching down into
