Introduction and Background EAS101 is an introduction course for all Miami Students entering an engineering-related field of study. The course teaches the fundamentals of what engineering is, how all forms of engineering are related, and talks about the ethics that modern-day engineers must consider. For this course, we have been asked to identify a problem in our society, and come up with a viable solution to the aforementioned problem. The class was split up into several small groups, each composed of students with different engineering majors. This gave each group the ability to look at the problem from different angles. Once our group was formed and the members finalized, we started coming up with possible areas of focus. From the outset, we were unsure of what problem we would take on. We considered several ideas involving new forms of energy for the campus and numerous topics that delved heavily into the technological aspect. After a bit of thought, however, we realized that we didn’t know nearly enough to take on such a haughty
