2 Hypothesis: The mulched areas will have greater invertebrate diversity than the non-mulched areas. Written Results: Table 1 gives all the raw data collected. It shows the number of each invertebrate morphotype collected in both the mulched and non-mulched areas. The mulched section of Table 1 shows that 17 morphotypes were present in the dirt sample, as well as 2 unidentified organisms in the “Other” slot. Of all the morphotypes present in the soil, Acarina was the most abundant with 79 organisms. The non-mulched section of Table 1 shows that 13 morphotypes were present in the dirt sample, as well as 1 unidentified organism in the “Other” slot. Of all the morphotypes present in the soil, Annelida was the most abundant with 21 organisms. Tables 2 and 3 take the mulched and non-mulched data respectively from Table 1 and break it down for analysis. The most important values, like N, -1 x [p i (ln p i )], and p i 2 , were then utilized in Table 4 in order to determine diversity according to the different diversity indices. Within Table 4, every diversity index was greater for the mulched areas than for the non-mulched areas.
