I really enjoyed this class because of all the fun and interesting projects we did. Contrary to other courses where we cover information that may be completely irrelevant to us and our majors, I really feel like the material covered in this course is important for everyone. Of course becoming a better writer should always be on our todo lists, but that wasn't always the main focus of this course. We covered a lot of topics that are very applicable to daily life, such as analyzing ads via rhetorical analyisis, or learning about other cultures through the ethnography paper. The reason I found these projects so enjoyable is that I can now go out into the real world and use these skills. We constantly have ads thrust upon us everyday. Being able to disect them and think about what they're trying to accomplish via the ad could help us make smarter decisions about purchasing items. For example, in my rhetorical analysis of an Old Spice television commercial, I was able to uncover how they were targetting me and trying to get me to buy their product. After watching the
