Unformatted text preview: Hartman 5 When it comes to illegal immigration, the unknown author of the article “invasion USA” thinks the biggest problem is how illegal immigrants threaten the United States medical system. For terms of simplicity, we will call the unknown author “Joe”. Joe starts with a story of an average family who illegally immigrated here from Mexico. This family had what they called an anchor baby, which is a baby who is born in the United States which guarantees the rest of the family to remain in the United States. Soon after they had another baby, which drew in 12,000 dollars a month from government aid. One of the babies was born premature, which racked up a $300,000 medical bills that obviously would not be paid back, however no patient can be denied treatment under federal law. This usually ignored factor is proving hardship on hospitals, in particular in California, where 84 hospitals have closed as a direct result of illegal immigration.
