Cameron Hartman 9/29/09 Seat # 59 DENNY v. REPPERT Facts: On July 12 th , 1963, three armed men robbed a First State Bank in Kentucky for $30,000.  Before the end of the day, the three men were caught by three police officers without conflict.  The First State Bank was a member of the Kentucky Bankers Association, which advertised a  $500 reward for the arrest of the bank robbers. There were many claimants to the reward,  including four bank employees (Murrell Denney, Joyce Buis, Rebecca McCollum, and Jewell  Snyder) who gave critical details of the robbery and three state police officers (Garret Godby,  Johnny Simms, and Tilford Reppert) who apprehended the suspects and the bank left it up to  the trial court to decide who should get the reward.  History: The trial court ruled in favor of the defendant, Reppert.  Issue: Who is entitled to the reward offered by the Kentucky Bankers Association?
