According to the information William and Martha Sears gave about their daughter Hayden, I can infer she was a difficult baby. She expressed the characteristics of a difficult baby by fussing a lot, and needing constant breastfeeding. Also she cried when her needs weren’t met. Hayden did not want to adapt to any new source of feeding, and she always wanted to be held. 2. Hayden’s birth opened William and Martha Sears up as persons. It made them realize different babies have different temperaments. Hayden made them reevaluate their job description as parents. Instead of controlling Hayden, they managed her and helped her learn to control herself. Also instead of treating Hayden like their other children, they accepted the reality of how Hayden was. 3. According to the “Goodness of fit” concept babies such as Hayden are inhibited and they need encouraging and accepting parents to get through their issues. If
