Denver Does NOT have a CEO-only organization Does have a few large corporations (Qwest,  United Airlines, Coors) Does have an offshoot of the Chamber of  Commerce called the Greater Denver  Corporation, responsible for economic  development Governor Roy Romer and GDC member Dick  Robinson put together a plan to build a  baseball stadium and gain a new franchise  for Denver.

The GDC spent $500,000 supporting the  referendum for a new stadium tax The Governor was highly supportive and  helped fill any vacuum created by a  moderately strong growth coalition.
