Melondy Moody Mosiacs Sec. 31 Jacobs: The Life and Death of Great American Cities Blog Topic #2 : The Life and Death of Great American Cities was a very interesting book to me. The ex- planation of the different aspects of the city kept me captivated to learn more. I really enjoyed reading Jacobs . This is because I myself have lived in the city however, I did not know as much about the city as this book explains. This book explains the ins and outs of these cities and give significances of simple things, such as sidewalks that I would have never before thought of. I also liked the book because it was very relatable to my own life. With these things that were ex- plained there were a few chapters that stuck out to me the most because they explained parts of life that I have experienced. These chapters were the most relatable to me because they are things that I have seen or experienced on a first hand basis. One of these chapters would be chapter two. Chapter twos’s section about sidewalks particularly. Jacobs explains how sidewalks are a significant part of the city. The sidewalks it is explained represent togetherness and community of the city.
