Specifically I am a Staff Sergeant assigned as an Instructor at the Information Technology Directorate in Fort Gordon Georgia. I have been deployed to Iraq and Kuwait. Before deploying to these places we were constantly preparing for real world missions because we were responsible for all communications assets within the Division. As a result numerous awards are given to Soldiers. There is a perceived moral problem across the Army with awards. The most recent complaint is that many more combat service support units receive the Combat Action Badge during combat deployments to Iraq/Afghanistan than combat units.
