A strategy would be to find a vector parallel to the surface and then rotate it 90 degrees. A vector parallel to the surface can be generated by picking any 2 points on the slope and finding the position vector. The easiest way is to use the corners of the surface. A vector perpendicular to this would make an angle with it equal to 90 degrees.
