O’Malley, 2010 LAB 4 – DETERMINATION OF IRON CONTENT BY REDOX TITRATION An oxidation-reduction titration will be used to analyze the iron ion content in a tablet. In this experiment, you will be using KMnO 4 as an oxidizing agent to titrate a sample of iron(II). The KMnO 4 solution will be standardized by first titrating it with a known sample of sodium oxalate.
