Meredith Thomas November 9, 2010 Violence Against Women In “Pornography and Freedom”, John Stoltenberg expresses his opinions of sexual freedom in relation to sexual justice. He expresses that people everywhere have complete understanding that freedom can only exist after there is justice. However, the one exception of this in the world today is sex. Stoltenberg says that sexual freedom cannot exist without sexual justice because without justice it makes having injustice a sexual thrill. This causes a patriarchy over women because it allows men to act sexually in ways that keep sex a basis for inequality. In today’s society sexual freedom has nothing to do with sexual justice. The idea of sexual freedom has been held on more of a personal level. Stoltenberg writes that the freedom people know is sex being “. .free from fear, guilt, and shame – which in practical terms has meant advocacy of sex that is free from value judgments, sex that is free from responsibility, sex that is free from consequences, sex that is free from ethical distinctions,
